Integrated Family Health Program honored by Ethiopia’s Federal Ministry of Health

(June 16, 2015, (Pathfinder International))--On June 13, 2015, Pathfinder International’s Integrated Family Health Program received a trophy from the Federal Ministry of Health’s Women and Youth Affairs Directorate for its special contribution to gender issues.

This award recognizes the Integrated Family Health Program (IFHP) for its support in mainstreaming gender issues at the federal and regional levels of the country’s health sector.

IFHP promotes an integrated model for strengthening family planning; reproductive health; and maternal, newborn, and child health services for rural and underserved populations. Funded by USAID, the program is led by Pathfinder and John Snow, Inc.

Since 2008, IFHP has worked to increase awareness and behavior change in the area of gender norms in Ethiopia.  IFHP received this award during the closing ceremony of the 5th Annual Women and Youth Affairs Structures Review Meeting. The trophy was given to members of IFHP by His Excellency  Dr. Kebede Worku, State Minister  of the Federal Ministry of Health. Read more from Pathfinder International »
