Ethiopia to Build Five New Airports

(June 02, 2014, TVC NEWS [ADDIS ABABA])--Ethiopian Airport Enterprise has announced plans to commence the building of five new airports around the country.

The Enterprise's Communications Head, Wendimu Tekle, said the airports will include the Major-General Hayelom Areaya Airport in Shire (Tigrai Regional State), and four others in Hawassa and Jinka (both in the Southern Regional State), Semera in Afar Regional State and Robe in Oromia Regional State.

TVC NEWS gathered the construction of the five airports is expected to contribute significantly to the Growth and Transformation Plan's goal of raising the number of airports in Ethiopia to 21.
